Today we bring you #4 from the Adventures in Stereo collection. Peter Nero brings us jazz that rocks. It made us completely forget the tragedy that was yesterday’s album of unchained melodies, from this collection. It’s a keeper. Under the RCA Victor label again we bring you Mack the Knife, Granada, Londonderry Air etc. A great jazz album!
Here’s an interesting version that I found.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, As Bernard Nierow, Nero started his formal music training at the age of seven. He studied piano under Frederick Bried. By the time he was fourteen, he was accepted to New York City’s High School of Music and Art and won a scholarship to the Juilliard School of Music. Constance Keene, his teacher and mentor, once wrote in an issue of Keyboard Classics, “Vladimir Horowitz was Peter’s greatest fan!” He graduated fromBrooklyn College in 1956.
