We diverge from the usually scheduled Johnny Cash Sunday records ~to bring you a pile of Jesus Hearted People. Lol. My recent 100 albums acquired had an amazing pile of Christian rock. Here’s 8 albums today with one review: religious christian rock / folk / pop crapola. (pardon my french here if you are a Christian rock groupy… goodonyah whatever you believe in). There will be a couple other Sundays loaded like this one, to come this year.
Today I bring you ~ 4 B.J. Thomas albums. His tender voice and his eyes are pretty darn dreamy. “Let me show you the way” to the CR Sally-Ann restore. He had over 50 albums!! Billy Joe “B. J.” Thomas (born August 7, 1942, Hugo, Oklahoma) is an American popular singer known for his chart-topping hits in the 1960s and 1970s—appearing on the pop, adult contemporary, country and Hot 100 charts.
Who knew the 80’s babydoll Amy Grant was a “faith-walkin’ people” kind of gal? Lol. O Sacred Head. Amy Lee Grant (born November 25, 1960) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, author, media personality and actress, best known for her Christian music. She has been referred to as “The Queen of Christian Pop”. As of 2009, Grant remains the best-selling contemporary Christian music singer ever, having sold over 30 million units worldwide. Guess I never paid attention to her. hm.
I held out more hope for DION in his fancy hat and Italian sauce gent look. “My Lord Jesus you are the Centre of my Life”. Sigh. His album Dion Dion (c’mooon a double named album?) has covers of Jimi Hendrix, Jody Mitchell, Dylan, Cohen etc.. Worth a once listen. Sweet organ and drum kit throughout but really he manages to demolish each song. Another artist with over 70 albums!! Dion was born to an Italian-American family in the Bronx, New York. As a child, he used to accompany his father, a vaudeville entertainer, on tour, and developed a love of country music – particularly Hank Williams – as well as a fondness for the blues and doo-wop stars he heard in local bars and on the radio. Now a practicing Roman Catholic, Dion pursues prison ministry and reaches out to men going through addiction recovery. He is also a member of the American Board of Directors of Renewal Ministries. He currently lives in Boca Raton, Florida, and New York City. Dion posts frequently on Facebook. On January 24, 2012, he released a new album, Tank Full of Blues. WHAT DO YOU THINK? (PURPLE HAZE @ 4:00)
I’ve got a big box of Sally-Ann donations in the car for this week! I’m headed out to worship the old growth and my garden.
Stay tuned next Sunday (thanxs for the tip Dad)… for a very special JC Sunday!
