HAPPY JOHNNY CASH DAY!

This is one of my FAv JC albums and after 5 mins of listening went straight into the TOP 30 records of 2012! It’s really one of his saddest and beautiful records. It features banjo, harmonica, the dobro and some sweet harmonies that I can only guess are the Carter sisters? There’s no release date on the album but it’s made in Canada. I think it came out in 1958 and is his third record.

Don’t Think Twice, its Alright written by Bob Dylan is so lovingly pushed out on this record. It made me reflect that i have at least 5 records with a cover of that song. Gordon Lightfot is my fav cover of it but JC sure does it a great service. The final song on Side B is a winner. The story about a saucy redhead who flirts her way into Johnny’s clutches only to find out she is the sister of his girlfriend! Fantastic record.

this is awesome!
