Apologies for the late posts this weekend record blog friends. I doubled up on many HITS records last week, so here’s a concert review instead. xo
We travelled to Vancouver for some exciting entertainment. We watched the mens Wombledon 2012 championship on the big screen in 3D at 6AM!! It was ever so much fun. FEDERER is world #1 ! Everything is as it should be in the world. Then we went to the Commodore Ballroom and saw Toots and the Maytals. A classic old school reggae experience. Here’s a couple clips from the concert (poor quality). You can hear me squelling as he did the cover of John Denver’s Country Roads.
The opening act was pretty thrilling as well. His name is Shane Phillip and lives near us on Quadra Island (when not on world tour- he’s gotten pretty busy lately). He is a one man procussion band. A force. He plays a phenominal dijeridoo and some wicked djembes as well. He has 2 records out, I believe. I’m more of a fan of his trance dance stuff than his recent acoustic vocals. He won “best live act” recently at the Vancouver Island music awards. Check out his website here click here for Shane’s website. There’s a jillion live videos of his shows on youtube. check them out.
